PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The need

The “Village de la Joie” association in Anovorano has asked Electriciens sans frontières to help improve the conditions of accommodation and schooling for the 215 orphans it welcomes and enrolls from kindergarten to college.

The response

Electriciens Sans Frontières realized the electrical installations of 15 rooms, 3 stables, 3 cow sheds and 2 small colleges. The teams have also upgraded the installation of a carpentry shop, a cheese factory and two houses for teachers and travellers helping the association. The volunteers also optimized the water supply to the site, which had significant financial costs because of the use of fuel oil.

The impact

The project has allowed the association to become more financially independent so that it can develop its market gardening and animal husbandry activities.

Good practice

A young apprentice was trained and participated in the majority of the work. ??? will contribute to the financing of the activity of the reception center.
